Meghan Trainor: I wrote a song called ‘marry me’ about my new boyfriend
Meghan Trainor is covering the new issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine. I’m ok with how they styled her, she looks 80s glam and there’s lots of cleavage, bright colors and lacy pushup bras showing in the photos, which you can see on Cosmo’s site. Her face looks strange to me on the cover though. It’s like they photoshopped her to look like Mamie Gummer. You see it too, right? Maybe they just resemble each other from certain angles. Anyway Meghan has been loved-up with a new boyfriend, an actor named Daryl Sabara whom she’s been seeing for nine months. Prior to that she was dating Nick Jonas’s assistant, Cory Andersen, but the two didn’t become Instagram-official or anything. Meghan is so serious about Daryl that she wrote a bunch of songs about him on her new album, which should be coming out soon. She released a track called “I’m a Lady” which was on the new Smurfs movie soundtrack. Here’s more of what she told Cosmo:
On her first date with boyfriend, actor Daryl Sabara:
We went on a double date — bowling and karaoke. He kissed me at the bowling alley. I told my security to step outside ‘cause I didn’t want to be watched. LOL. He was the best kisser ever. I know I’m really good at kissing, but I was shocked when he was.On feeling sexy:
I never really felt sexy with guys before. No one expressed how they liked my body out loud in the bedroom until I met Daryl. He is obsessed with it — every inch. And that has improved my confidence more than even “Bass” did. He’s a champion, so we’re in heaven.On being a young artist:
The benefit of being young is having time to learn and to fix things. We take notes after everything: pros and cons about things, what we will do differently next time, how did Beyoncé do it? That’s the question we always ask ourselves. [She’s] our god. I always say, “What would Beyoncé do?”
On how her next album will include songs about Sabara:
I wrote six songs on the road about him in front of his face. One is called “Marry Me.”
Meghan is just 23 years old! She seems a little young to be thinking about marriage, but I get it she’s in love. Given the lyrics of “Dear Future Husband,” about how accommodating a wife she’ll be, I don’t expect groundbreaking lyrics from this new song, but her music is catchy and I usually enjoy doing Zumba to it. In case you think Meghan is going to pull a Taylor and write songs when this relationship ends, she swears she would never do that. Also, it’s a bit TMI that she says her boyfriend is “obsessed” with her body, but I shudder to think what kind of interviews I would have been giving at 23 about my sex life. She probably thinks she’s being reserved.
